Thank you for taking the time to visit my site & see my work. I want my clients to feel as comfortable with me as possible during our shoot, so here's some info to help you get to know me before we meet!

WHAT I DO

I found my passion for photography in high school while taking sports photos & portraits for the yearbook as the editor-in-chief, & eventually taking senior & family photos for my friends. From there, I went to Colorado State University to major in journalism & to play on the drumline in the marching band--after about a year, I changed my major to Early Childhood Education. I live with my incredible husband (who has also been my crush since third grade), our sweet boy Raymond, our pup Rooster, & our kitty Pamela in Greeley, CO. I teach K-6 Reading Intervention in Gilcrest, CO during the school year, & I photograph engagements & weddings, maternity & newborn photos, family photos, & senior photos in the Greeley & Fort Collins area on Mondays (holla at all the 4-day school week districts), weekends, & throughout the summer.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO

While teaching little humans how to read is a joy of my life, photography has been a creative outlet which allows me to capture the huge, life-changing moments as well as the seemingly mundane ones for some amazing people. It is truly a privilege to have a part in memorializing your wedding day in the photos you put up on your wall, or to give you the ability to reminisce on how precious your kiddos were at each major milestone in their lives.

your experience

So many people hate taking photos because they "aren't photogenic" or "just feel too awkward." As your photographer, it's my job to make you feel comfortable & cute! I do this by playing music throughout the shoot, hyping you UP the whole time, giving you natural movements or prompts to do rather than the "sit still & pose" requests, telling you my worst dad jokes to get those natural smiles, and so much more. I try to make the photos feel as natural as possible! My editing style is just as natural--I avoid editing my photos to look as if I just popped an Instagram filter on them. I love to bring out the colors already in the photo! I've been developing my Photoshop & Lightroom skills for 10+ years now, & I am a "recovering perfectionist," so you can trust that I will take the time to make them as perfect as possible (which often includes removing any ugly distractions in the background). Check out some of my work in the "Portfolio" section, & feel free to reach out with any questions or inquiries!

Testimonials

“We hired Jayde to take our engagement photos, and we were thrilled with the results! Jayde made the shoot such a comfortable and fun time. We felt that her style was very creative, and she blended fun and serious so perfectly through the photos. She was direct telling us how to pose when we needed it, but also gave us the freedom to do whatever we wanted. Her editing style is very natural, but still adds a unique quality to how the end result turned out. We are beyond happy with how they turned out!”

I work really hard to get your photos back to you in a timely manner; however, I do appreciate grace in making time to do that while also still teaching full time & chasing a busy toddler around! The turnaround time for all portrait sessions is 2-3 weeks. For a wedding gallery, the turnaround time is a maximum of 90 days. That being said, if your shoot is over an extended break (i.e., summer, spring, or Christmas break), you can expect to receive your photos back sooner!

Absolutely! I believe that the location plays a significant role in capturing unique and personalized photographs. Whether it's at your home, a scenic outdoor location, or a venue of your choice, I'm open to capturing your moments in a place that holds meaning to you.

If you are interested in hiring me for a session, wedding, or elopement outside of the U.S., I'll photograph you for the price of my travel + expenses. It would be a privilege & a joy to get to document your special memories abroad!

I only send out the best version of my work--the fully-finished, professionally edited product. So much time, effort, & skill goes into my editing process, so of course I want to make sure that effort is represented well! Our editing style is largely what makes photographers unique from each other, & I would hope that you chose to hire me (in part) because of the artistic vision you saw in my work.

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location. I want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and I am flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances.
